You have a guest in class today, please be polite and nice. If you finish early find something quiet to work on and do not get out of your seat until the bell rings. Please shut the computers down or they will run all night and it will be SUPER HOT in here tomorrow. Mitchell, Terrance and Derrick: Please help make sure all the computers are turned off!
Go to My Computer and go into the R Drive, Ferris and go into Media Analysis. There is a document called Body Image Introduction in there. Answer the questions, save it into your H Drive and email it to Mrs. Ferris (ferrer01@southredford.net). Use complete sentences and good answers.
When you are done, view this PowerPoint. Take a close look at the pictures and models.

What are two things that stood out for you in the video?
If you were absent and did not see the video do question #1 and in the email tell Mrs. Ferris that you were absent. She will email back with your instructions.
Friday, September 17th---Reading Assignment
Choose one of the following two articles and read the entire article.
After you have read it, create a Word document and write a 1 paragraph (5-7 sentences) about what you think about the ideas in the article.
Finally, do a google search and find the link to an article on Body Image that interests you. Email Mrs. Ferris the Word document as an attachment and the link to the article in the email. We will be using these articles next week so also save it in your favorites.
Monday, September 20th--Internet Assignment
Altering Images--How and why does it happen?
Pay attention and take notes while watching the video in class
Go to the Webhunt page. Using the information from the video, answer all the questions in complete sentences. Stop at the Challenge question (so there will be 6 answers). Make sure all answers are complete.
Email your completed assignment to Mrs. Ferris or hand write it and turn it into the basket. If you do not finish the assignment it must be completed at home or get a FLEX pass.
Be ready for a video Tuesday.

Extra Credit: What store catalog can no longer be mailed unless it is in a package? Teens shop there and it the store was mentioned in the movie (not the ban)--Put in the same email.
If you are absent you must email Mrs. Ferris saying you were absent in order to get instructions as to how to make this assignment up.

As you saw in the movie on Tuesday, women are using in adveritsing in many ways.
Find 3 examples of how women are used to advertise products, shows or movies.
You must choose 1 positive example.
If you choose a commerical include the link, if you choose an ad, paste it into Word.
Explain how the woman is being used in the advertising and what you think (3-5 sentences).
Extra credit will be given for good examples.
